She is a very laid back pup and has been since I brought her home. She played in the beginning, but it takes alot of motivation from us to get her going. She eats, drinks and mainly sleeps. Her stool is slimey...she is slightly thin, so I am feeling like there might be a worm issue, so that I am taking care of tom. any ideas from anyone???

did you change her diet. Maybe the puppy food is not the same or the right one where she is getting all of her nutrients. Make sure it is not an adult food bc adults have different needs than puppies... Also try some plain boiled white rice its healthy for them...

She probably does have worms, they're very common in shelter pets. Once that gets cleared up, she should perk up a bit. Also, many people don't realize that puppies are not endless sources of energy- just like human babies, young puppies spend a lot of time just sleeping.

Get the vet to give her a good going over- make sure you bring a fresh stool sample, and they'll probably take a blood sample as well- and I'm sure they'll be able to catch any health problems she's having. She should be back to her happy self in a few days. Good luck!

if her stool is slimy, it sounds like she might either have hook worms, or round worms. It usually looks like egg snot. Have them checked out right away. They can be deadly if not taken care of soon, and can transfer it to other pets. I am not sure what kind it is, but some kinds of worms and parasites can be transferred to people when walking bare foot. Mostly kids who play out in a yard where the dog went potty. So for the protection of you, your children if you have any, or your other pets if you have any and other animals around, have your pooch looked at and good luck!!

You cannot get a diagnosis on here. take your dog to the vet and let a professional do what he went to college for. Asking here is really not going to help your dog.

I do not think it is worms...... Sounds more like giarrdia or coccidia..

I would be concerned about provirus. Please get her in to see that vet as soon as possible.
