Exactly and I had my son on my lap when I got on R & S and saw the avatar. I can't believe Yahoo Q&A doesn't check the pictures before they can be posted.

Hi Endora,
I wouldn't mind anyone of any age seeing my avatar, I love it.
I have been on this site for nearly three months now and today was the first time I've ever noticed an objectionable avatar.
(In fact, they have answered this question).
I don't even know if you could report an avatar!
Just like the filthy questions that get through, I will ignore them.
They thrive on attention and shock value, why else would they do it?
But you are right, for the young it is not a good thing.
What of the children and relatives of the posters?
Now that's a scary thought isn't it?
EDIT: I see they have gone. At times the YA process does work!
They are in the minority and hopefully will stay that way.

I appreciate what you're trying here,r eally. But I have to agree with music_girl. Ignoring is really the only thing that works.

Don't answer them, no thumbs down, don't even talk about them.

It's the only way to get rid of those morons. There's nothing much that Yahoo can do. They can delete the account, the moron can make a new one in two minutes. They can even use a different ip-address.

Insane people can only be stopped online if they are fully ignored.

Endora, an honest opinion of mine please. The woman is nude, but I consider it art....it is a sketch by Boris Vallejo, one of my favorite artists. Your thoughts? Is mine tasteful, or should I change it?

***I almost forgot to answer your question. My 14 year old son picked this avatar for me, so of course I am fine with him and my 11 year old seeing it. The pornographic avatars cropping up all over the place are one reason I don't allow my kids on this site.

My 11 year old daughter created my avatar for this site. My kids check out my answers for accuracy sometimes (ref. my answer for 52 card pickup that got 'Best Answer'). But they only look at the questions that I'm answering. It would be a bad idea to let kids paruse the site due to the 'puppets'(those people who are led by every stupid and perverted thought that pops into their head) who entertain themselves with their depraved fantasies.

My avatar isn't pornographic, and I don't think anyone can tell what it is anyway. All the same I agree the porno avatars are probably for shock value ,but what is "offensive" usually varies from person to person. I find Martha Stewart offensive, but not everyone agrees with me.

I don't mind if people see my avatar or my posts. I haven't said anything that isn't suitable for a 12 year old and I'd never use a picture that isn't (the idea of my nephew seeing that kind of thing is just totally.... uggggggg... blech).

Red Queen's avatar is tasteful.
The pornographic ones are attention seekers.
Yahoo needs to seriously look at their policy regarding uploading photos.

I really dont care what my brother and sister sees and if i had kids i would educate them in sociology so they would know why some people deem others actions immoral.Porno is not evil and has prevented many many acts of rape. And if they see flaming homo-sexuals i will say some people are gay this is a choice. And some people like to express themseves in akward ways this is their right and you should not deny it because it "looks bad" or you dont like it.
