my father and i have made a gingerbrad house together every year since i was 3. Usually we buy kits though some years we actually made our own gingerbrad. I've even done one for an advanced class art project before. It's very easy to do just go to a store and grab a kit and put it together. Some come with the frosting and candy others just the housr peices. My family prefers to buy just the house and then we get our own candy and frosting. You can also look up a simple gingerbread rcipie and cut the shapes of the walls and roof out before you bake it to make your own. The sky is the limit with gingerbread anything you can imagine. Frosting icicles.....gumdrop chimnies....marshmellow snow men....swedish fish roof tiles. you can make it symetrical on the roof or just crazy and covered incandy. We also have a set of little poeople we place around the house and it has it's own special stand that comes out at christmas time....my only suggestion as far as actually constructing the house is make sure you make the house frist pussing up the sides and then the roof and then put it in the refirderatore to harden for a while before adding any candy or anything else. This make the rosting hard so it stays together better. Put it back in the fridge when you're completely done to solidify it again so you're beautiful masterpiece doesn't fall apart!!!! good luck and happy holidays

I have made them in the past but it has been a while. There are some great websites you can find by typing in gingerbread houses in the search box. The houses there run from easy tho you've got to be kidding, they are all beautiful you should check it out.

Go to Wal-Mart or Target or another department store and buy a kit, believe me it is a whole lot easier!!!! They are a lot of work to make from scratch.
