I also served in Vietnam. I was wounded in the right ankle. still have the bullet in me. No one told me I could go home because I was wounded. All they did was keep me out for 4 days while they made a cast I could wear in my jump boots. I was a gunner on a copter . I EARNED my purple heart. My brother was with the marines for 4 tours in Nam. He was wounded 4 times. He was not asked if HE wanted to go home. after one wound he was sent to a hospital in Japan & after 9 weeks he was returned to Nam..kerry hated the military. He had a plan to use his service for his polictal ambitions. He did not have any trouble condeming the troops. The military code of justice says if you know crimes are being comited & do not report them then you to are guilty of those crimes I guess Kerry killed wemen & children& burned villages.

To me, the bottom line is that John Kerry has no integrity.
I do not care if he was trying to make a joke or if he meant what he said. Either way it was extremely inappropriate and embarassing for him, the military, the Demosocialcrats, and the country as whole.
The best thing he could do (my opinion) is to go home, take off his coat and tie and forget about polotics.
He has destroyed his integrity and reputation (big loss) enough, in the process he has managed to insult his own country by merely opening his mouth. He is a disgrace to us all, from us Vets, to the White House.
Would you trust, or even vote for a chronic liar who belittles the very people he is supposed to represent?

When John Kerry got his second purple heart he was wounded in his sense of humor. They had to remove most of it. Tragic loss. His 3rd purple was a nerve injury. Now, again tragically, when he opens his mouth his brain seems to shut down. I think he should stick to what his speech writers put in front of him. They are definately smarter than he is.

The problem is that the military was made for conventional war not for setting up governments and policing.

As much as I think John Kerry is a moron, I think what he said was just a slip of the tongue. He meant to insult President Bush, not the troops.
Instead of saying "... you'll get US stuck in Iraq" he said ..."you'll get stuck in Iraq".
I guess that's what you get for trying to insult the leader of the free world! Dumb@$$!

Whether it was or not it was still out of line. He should just keep his mouth shut. The best thing about this whole affair was the soldiers response http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=288149421&size=o
Awesome!

I just know he's an idiot.
I sincerely hope that it was just him not reading what was written.
But then again, didn't he throw his medals over the White House fence?
