You may have found alot of his quality's very attractive and he's not lost those. On the other hand it was not enough to keep him around the first go. Ask yourself if you made a mistake and if your ready to take on what you didn't like about him. We sometimes when we are lonely forget those things... : )

if you are in true love with someone you can't just get over it. Love is a powerful thing and it does not go away. Maybe you too just can't work out but you can still love him just not in that way. If the feeling is that strong then give it another chance.
