ok i work at a correction facility with alot of young african american boys an learned a few things about the ocean ,
wave cap wave cap they are super afforardable use it at night or when ever you feel like u have a bad hair day. a trick they use is lotion they put lotion in there hair dont know if its cus they dont have greese then they get plastic an rub there heads as if they were brushing it normaly it takes 5 10 months to get waves going an going deep. an make sure you go an get your hair cut by someone that can cut hair ( cut with the hair not against it)

i recently asked this question ,but the way ppl always tell me is to apply stuff like Magic or 360 Wave grease on my hair after i get out of the shower.Then, put a doorag or cap on it till morning then wash it out in the shower.Also brush it alot.
