As gross as this is take pictures of the cat in their backyard. Call the cops or animal humane society and report them for animal abuse. They should come right out, but the you'll have the pics in case they move/hide the cat.

I am so sorry about your cat. You will need to take pictures. If you know the neighbors, ask them what happened. If not, go straight to the police and local humane society. Good luck, I'm so sorry for what happened :-(

I am so sorry to hear that happened to your cat. Please call the police....I also live in Australia and I personally would call the Police rather than the RSPCA...cruelty to animals is a criminal offence, punishable by jail & the police are equipped to investigate it. People who are cruel to animals should always be reported as it is often a sign that they are psychopaths and are also often cruel/sadistic to children and police know this as well...in fact, they are educated about this.

Are you in the US? Here in Australia we would report this sort of thing to the RSPCA. Look in your phonebook for organizations against cruelty to animals and report it. Something like this should not be left uninvestigated.

you found your cat in your neighbours back yard shot to death is your neighbours a Seiko or just planned co-co,what shush people doest that to a arm Lise little pet.what you can do is phone the cops and phone human society.he will go to jail because this is just not wright.its killing defenceless cat.please please make a call.and you must feel sad not to have your cat.there people that are so cruel.hope he goes to jail for doing this to your cat and that the judge will tell him to pay you for another little kitten and to pay the medical for the little kitten.

first ask your neighbor nicely and see how your neighbor answers. i can tell when somebodies lying, can you? then go from there. but find out first if they know anything about your dog being there shot
