That has really no effect on your muscles. It won't prevent them from getting large, and it won't make them get any larger either. Small repetitive movements don't build muscles mass, they strengthen it. If someone told you anything negative, it was only to scare you. It doesn't have any long term effects and only 1 short term effect, and you have clearly already experienced that one. ;)

Just make sure you switch hands every so often otherwise one arm will get bigger muscles than the other one.

You might. Just be sure to alternate hands to keep balance and prevent your arms from being two different sizes.

One has nothing to do with the other. HOWEVER, Release of any kind can cause you to use more energy that can be better used to keep working out....
