My bf is Puerto Rican and i am full American, and my dad doesn't like hispanic people that much (I don't know why) Most of my friends are hispanic, but he doesn't know about them. I wonder if my dad will accept the fact that he is Puerto Rican and his Step-mom is mexican. I want him to meet him so he can get to know him.

Your dad is probably the kind who doesn't like hispanic people even though he hasn't really ever talked to anyone hispanic. A lot of my family are like that (it kills me!!).

One way to get rid of racism like this is to introduce him to hispanic people and let him see that they are people, just like him.

But I would think your dad would still not accept your boyfriend. You'll just have to make it work out somehow if you really like the guy.

I suggest u ask your dad why he doesn't like Hispanic people. Its likely he's had a bad experience involving someone Hispanic. If this is the case you my have a hard time convincing him to accept your bf.
Also tell your dad that you want to be honest and truthful with him. If he cant accept your friends and bf, then he lets u no choice but to lie to him. I'm sure if u explain that to him he might look at things differently . if u think your loves worth it; fight for it.

maybe if your dad gets to know him, he will let go of his stereotypes. it's unlikely, but i could happen.

but before you bring your bf over talk with your dad. tell him that he doesn't have to like your bf, he just has to be respectful. you are going to date him, so he needs to get used to the idea of a hispanic person being around you.

you should also talk to your bf so he gets the heads up on your dad. he needs to know that your dad is a little bit racist so he can be prepared.
