Is it only for a few seconds after you wake up? If so there is an explanation for that. When you go into a deep sleep your cerebellum (might not be the right word, but anyways the back portion of your brain near your spinal cord) locks the body so that it can't move. This is because when you are asleep if you aren't locked you will sometimes act your dreams out and that can be dangerous, so to be safe your brain puts out a chemical to keep your body rigid, so you don't thrash and stuff in your sleep. If you wake up (espeically if you wake up in the middle of a dream due to a nightmare or something) your body still has the chemical in it and it takes a second or two to flush it out. Also, just for a side note, some ppl who sleep walk sleep walk because there cerebellum isn't working correctly to lock thier body when they are asleep. I hope this helps you some, best of luck =)

I have heard about this before and what happens is when you have been sleeping for a while your body goes into REM mode (rapid eye movement) and this is basically the deep sleep stage. For most people when we wake up we are already out of the REM stage but for some, when they wake up, their body accidentally didn't get them out of the REM stage so they are still in it and when that happens you cannot move until your body exits that stage. I am pretty sure that this isn't dangerous but really just obnoxious.

well. this is a natural function your body does when you sleep. See yout body puts itself in a mode of tempoary physical paralisys. The body does this to prevent a person from doing the action they are dreamin (life if you were running in a dream, you actualy wouldent run in real life). The body does this for your saftey. However, when some people wake up, they are actual half in and out of dream state, thus they are still paralyzed.

yeah, this might sound pretty wierd, but i know that feeling, and it comes from the evil spirits, trying to take control of your body while you sleep, it's so intense, it makes you wake up, do you hear a strange buzzing noise, or some wierd sound distortion? Well, try sleeping with a Bible...
I actually used to get that alot before, but since I've really gotten to know myself, and learned the truth about God, and gotton really close to Him, I never get it any more, but sometimes it feels like it's starting to happen and when i say Gods name (or think about God), it stops immediatly, isnt that crazy?

This used to happen to me when I was younger, a teenager, but I have grown out of it. It is a period when you are no truly awake. But almost. It can scare the hell out you can't it?

You are just not fully awake yet. Try to relax and not to worry about it.
