I have been told by my girlfriend of 2yrs that she had hepatitis B long before we had intercourse. We had used condoms every time we make love so this is not an issue. Is there any medication to totally get rid of her hepatitis B virus?

Yes, there's a new drug recently approved for hep b. It is also used for hep c treatment, and it's having good results with B. It's called Pegasys, made by Roche Pharmaceuticals. It 's very expensive, but if she has good health insurance, it should cover it. If she doesn't, she can apply for the patient assistance program from Roche called Pegassist. She needs to see a gastroenterologist or Infectious Disease doc who has a large hep B clientele. Best wishes.

Sorry to tell u that... there isn't any medication for totally get rid of it. But my advice is ask her to keep herself healthy so that she's body can prevent the virus from growing stronger. And regularly check up also need. For your case i think u should go with her if she got any check-up so that u can ask the doctor about what should be done if both of u are getting married in future.

There is no cure for hepatitis B.

You have two choices:
1. Leave her and find another woman. This is for your good sake, if your child born, wait your child also kenna! Medically proven that it can inherit.

2. Wait one day, you kenna. Better get yourself vaccinated FAST!

As Cindy 1323 says, there are treatments nowadays we didn't have even 5 years ago.

The best thing you can do is get yourself vaccinated so you don't have to worry about getting it yourself.

Voting points to Cindy, please.
