Is a breast lift wrong???? Not implants, but a lift.

I'm a Christian and therefore I believe that it is a sin to be vain and get plastic surgery. HOWEVER, what about a breast lift? Is it wrong to do this? Is it being vain? It has been brought to my attention and am curious to see what other REAL Christians believe.

The question was brought to me by a married woman who had 2 children. I'm supposing she's not concerned with how other people/men view her; just her husband.

Breast implants are a form of plastic surgery. God made you perfect for you. I think it is vain. Also, if your reason to do this is to incite lustful thoughts from men who you aren't married to...I don't think God looks too kindly on that either.

I am not judging, but you did ask.

Whether you get an implant or a lift it still amounts to the same thing: you're trying to make yourself look better. But the reasoning behind both could be the same; it could be for self-image or to make yourself more attractive to the opposite sex. Both are vanity, although the former is less serious than the latter. On the other hand, we need some measure of vanity in order to keep ourselves looking presentable (disinterest=slovenliness, usually). If you get a lift and tell others obout it, that's definitely vanity; if you keep quiet about it, well--maybe, maybe not. 1 Timothey 2: 9, 10 says women should put spiritual values first (it's sometimes used to bolster the belief that no makeup or jewelery should be used at all, but that's not the import of the scripture) and other scriptures counsel moderation in all things. So, basically, getting a lift is a personal decision.

I suppose it is a little vain, but then I suppose it might depend upon why you want the lift. If you are trying to just look normal, I don't think that is nearly as bad as trying to look abnormally large.
Another way of saying it is what effect do you want to achieve? Are you trying to get noticed?
If you had breast cancer and a mastectomy, would reconstructive surgery be vain? I don't think so. If you were born with small breasts and just want to look normal, is that vanity? Some would say yes and some would say no. There are a lot worse things, for sure.
I think that if doing it is a sin, then wanting to do it is also a sin. We are all sinners, but forgiven.

ok, I'm a born again and i see that a lot of people Miss interrupted the question. You wanna get a breast lift and not breast implants, I don't see anything wrong with it. However, the bible does say that your body is your temple and that you should take care of it. On the other hand its between you and God. Pray about it. I honestly can't say that i wouldn't. Do what you feel is right.

i am a christian, and I do not think it is a sin to get plastic surgery. But i personally would not want to have it. Breast lifts are very common, and many Christians have them. I would suggest not to be so judging of others with the negatives. We all have negatives in our life. I think you need to change your way of thinking, because if i met someone like you that judges people on materialistic things, i would not want to be their friend. Lighten up and focus on your on spirituality and not on the ones you think have "sinned".

I personally dont believe getting a breast lift is being vain or a sin. If someone is doing this to make themselves feel better then go for it. I dont know the particular situation but for someone to consider it, they must be unhappy with their current looks or the feel of their body. I would go for it to make myself happy. If it is being done for someone else then it would be wrong...

I believe breast implants are okay for certain reasons: for instance:
If you have had a masectomy
If you are very very small or flat chested
To get a lift
But when I see girls that are already big just wanting to be bigger....
or girls who are A cups and they go to tripple D, E, F, or G cup; that is a mockery and a disgrace to the human body.
When they get them just to be normal..to feel better about themselves....okay
But to make an a** of yourself and all women is a sin....

If you go by the worlds standards, yes, it is vanity. I do not know first hand, so-to-speak, but if I were female and had pedulous breasts I would think that it would be benificial to have them nipped and tucked as they say... for comfort and back releif... I have known women who have done so and they say it makes a lot of difference in back pain and general health... as far as implant though... I would think personaly that would be against what God would agree with... that is clearly vanity and prideful...both traits concidered less than desireable in Christian life.

Although I wouldn't do it, it does not make it wrong for you to do, if you feel you would be improving your situation by doing so, there is nothing wrong with improving yourself of course, you have to ask yourself what are the reasons you want to do it is it because od vanity or not you are the one who knows that, vanity is not a good reason for doing it but if it does make you feel that it is an improvement then it will make you feel more confidence then there is no reason that it should be wrong unless you are doing it just to attract the opposite sex other than your husband then it would be wrong to do and just vanity, we should look to improve all areas of our life if it is within our power to do so there is nothing scriptually wrong with it there at all, but of course it does depend on your motives, that can tip the scales in either direction

Why would it be a sin? The Bible never says anything about "thou shalt not get plastic surgery." Besides, wearing makeup and buying nice things can be considered being vain.
