Some of us hate him because over the years we suffered more than enough from Christians "in his name".

I am glad to help you out here.

Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi. He was an essene and a Kabbalist, and had evolved spiritually to understand compassion, forgiveness, that God is a God of Love instead of wrath, and he went about teaching about God's grace and willingness to forgive instead of following the Law of Moses.

The other Jewish Rabbis were not as spiritually evolved were offended when he taught the people they did not have to follow the laws of Moses.

The Roman empire wanted him dead because they feared that he would start an uprising.

So you have the Rabbis and the Roman army both wanting him dead.

Now your second part of the question; about calling the movement Christianity.

Most of the new testament was written in Greek; and Christ means "Anointed one" They began calling him the Christ because they believed he was the Messiah.

After his death, and Paul and other apostles spread the message of Grace to the Gentiles; the movement took on the name Christian or Christianity at the church of Antrioch.

Hope this helps you.

Because he was changing the religion around and calling it Judaism- it was the easy way out, without alot of the difficult laws included in Judaism. You could probably just research the histroy of Christianity to find out the rest.

To fulfill O.T. prophecy, Jesus had to be born from the lineage of the tribe of Judah. He fulfilled the O.T. requirements, and condemned the Jewish leaders for their manipulation of the scriptures rather than the fulfillment of them. The term Christian, or Christianity, means "Christ Like", so once the Jews rejected him as the messiah, he was able to turn to the gentiles and offer them salvation through repentance rather than blood sacrifice. Since he was no longer bound by the Jewish law, which he had fulfilled, his teaching were no longer O.T. Jewish, but N.T. salvation thorough repentance, so the names Christian, and Christianity were used to identify his teachings.

They hated Him because their opinion of a savior would be one who rode in on a horse swinging a sword. When Jesus arrived on the scene overcoming evil with good and walking in love I think it really blinded them of His true purpose. Their rejection of Him opened the door of salvation to the rest of the world. Christians were first know as "The Way". Later it was changed to Christians which means "Christ Like"

Jews don't hate Jesus, but after centuries of persecution and numerous attempts at genocide on them, they've learned to hate Christianity.
