I asked him if the kids were mean to him and he said no and its not the teachers cause i asked that to. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it? I almost ready to take him out and wait until next year, beacuse he will have to go to preschool again because of his birthday.

totally sounds like one of my sons. i had twin boys in the same class and they both had different experiences under the same conditions. one was always chomping at the bit to go the other was clingy once we got there EVERYDAY for two years. i finally ascertained that it was just his routine with me before i left him; the teachers said he loved it after he could get past the fact i was gone.

i think kids just go back and forth and yours just might really miss you at this point. if you cant find anything more to his reluctance to go, a lot of talking about school and making it a larger part of your conversations might make him more ready to go as each day passes. he might feel more prepared to be there with this support.

good luck!

Maybe he feels he isn't getting enough attention or time from you. Make it a point to schedule a special time with him so he doesn't see preschool as time away from mom (and dad).

Also, do an unscheduled drop in at the preschool. You might find out first hand what the problem is.

My daughter did the same last year at this time of year. The beging of the year is fun play outside new things etc. It is wearing off, not so much new to explore & if you are in a cold climate no longer going out to play.

my son is the same sometimes. ive tryed asking the same questions u did and got the same ansa's. when i take him and he starts to hang on to me when i say its time for me to go i just be stern and sharpe with him and say "right mummys going now and i'll be back later to pick you up have a nice afternoon" if they see that they dont get much of a reaction from them hanging off your trouser leg then they will get the idea that this is their time and mummy will be back later to collect them. but always make sure they understand that you are coming back for them. hope this helps.
