One of the symptoms of a panic attack is shortness of breath, so yes, that could very well be it.
When you have asthma, you can tell because the problem occurs when you exhale. You can inhale completely, filling the lungs all the way. It's when you try to exhale that everything stops, and you can't breathe out. This causes stale air to stay trapped in the lungs.

I have panic disorder and when I have a panic attack I get shortness of breath among other side effects. See your doctor and get tested for anxiety, I bet he/she will be able to help you with this. Best of luck!

Yes, it could definitely be from Anxiety! I spend most of my day feeling like I can't breath, because of my anxiety. My med's curb it some, but not to the extent I'd like. And if my mind isn't focused on other things, I'll start to hyperventilate rather easily.

It does not sound like you have a disease. You have had a panic attack. It can be dealt with like a disease. See your Doctor and they can help.
