This only happens when it is in drive. Any ideas?

Check your brake callipers sounds to me one of the pistons in one of the callipers are out of round the piston is sticking replace the calliper

i have a 93 and mine does the same i can feel the thump on the drivers side front i havent checked it yet but i think my brake calipers are moving around because the pins that hold them are worn out
i am not sure i have to take off my tire and see

my brother inlaw had the same problem it was a sticky brake caliper. we bled the brakes. put fresh brake fluid in it and it hasent done it again? hope this helps

control arm bushing. Also check the rear arms it could be telegraphing to sound like the front.

radius arm bushing may be shot if they are original i would say they are gone
