This info is off of the CCI website. Basically, they are a "hopped up" .22 shell.

They are a high velocity .22 caliber Long Rifle rimfire hollow-point round. I had a box around here just a while ago - can't find it now.

They were the first to offer this type of round. I think there's a similar round called the "Yellow Jacket" and some other similar rounds.

Should shoot a tad flatter - I'd imagine that they have a lighter bullet. They do make a sharper crack noise when fired. I only bought one box in my life and have saved the last 9 of the 50 for my .22 pistol in case I'd need to resort to it.

They were packed exactly as Vtmtnman said the same way when they first came out some 25 or so years ago.
I also had about 800 hundred regular CCI rounds that were about 20 years old that I ran though a few years back with no problems.

There are no .22 rimfire rounds that travel at 3200 fps. The fastest rimfire is the .17 HMR, with over 2000 fps, but nowhere near 3200. Most .22 LR rounds are in the 1200-1300 fps ballpark, with souped-up ones like the Stingers exceeding that by a few hundred fps.

I love CCI ammo. They make very good rimfire ammo.Stingers are their high velocity round. They usually come in a blue plastic case, the shells a nickel, and they have copper hollow point bullets. The only round they make that's faster is the Velocitor.

Be warned-they are a little more expensive, but worth the money if you need a flat shooting hollow point.

As was said, they are a hyper-velocity .22 rimfire hollowpoint cartridge. They are higher velocity because they are loaded with a slower burning powder which keeps the pressures acceptable. What that means is - you will see higher velocity in rifles, but not in handguns due to the barrel length differences.

There are several different kinds. The 22 long rifle version I believe travels at 3200 FPS. The Federal brand 22 long rifles that I currently have will travel at 1280 FPS
