All the power in Mexico belongs to old spanish families from spain who despise the "indian mexican". They are the biggest racists, the worst elitists ever! If they werent so damn greedy, they would have a very big army, and an excellent economy. I wonder why nobody has cracked down on the Mexican government for their lack of support for their own people. They have so much potential, yet choose not to help their own people.

Mexico is a very large country complete with a highly trained academia. Several hundred thousand graudate from its universites annually.
Mexico has a booming economy in four aspects. PeMex is a national oil company providing billions annually to the national treasury. Tourism is ranked second providing billions to the economy and several hundred thousand employees.
Agriculture is immense providing several million with steady employment. Foreign factories have opened all over Mexico providing hundreds of thousands with steady employment.
Like many third world countries several million are employed in retail sales and in domestic fabrication of products.
Mexico has suffered historically from a single political part rulership until six years ago when Vicente Fox of the P.A.N. became president. He instituted numerous reforms which dimished corruption substantially. President Obregon of the same party will continue with the party reforms. In six years we should see a prosperous Mexico which will be quite capable of providing for its citizenry.
The United States can and should continue with legally immigrating about 200,000 Mexican nationals annually. If the Congress decides to enact a special work authorization for Mexicans allowing them to enter and leave at will we all will benefit from the program.
The hungry poor family members of the temporary program must remain in Mexico.
The breadwinner should work here, sending discretionary income home allowing the spouse and children to live well off of the remittances.

The overwhelming sense of greed permeates the mexican psyche to the point that they have little or no loyalty to their own country or people. I think this phenomenon is not at all endemic to mexico but it is coming into it's own in that country right now to the point where it makes American corporate greed look like two kids arguing in a playground. This is terrible for any country of people.

Well, they're smart- they're getting rid of what could turn out to be their own demise, which is the poor and desperate, and dumping them into our country. The truth is that if those same poor people were in Mexico, all the rich elite would be toast...

The rich in Mexico wanted to keep the wealth within them instead of investing in the Mexican economy to provide jobs for millions of Mexicans instead of going North.

Wonder what they would do if we loaded up a bunch of trucks of people and headed over there and told them we only had enough room for so many people so we have to exchange..100 of theirs for 100 of ours...think they would get the point..probably not. I am personally tired of my taxes feeding their butt. We have kids here in the US starving and they feed Mexicans with our food...I am sure that's real comforting to a kid who didn't have supper tonight or who won't have lunch tomorrow.

yeah.. i'm not sure the picture is that simple.
Maybe they came by themselves because they wanted to live decently.
Stop rejecting immigrants, they are the fundation of your nation. United States has always been populated by immigrants, don't be hypocrit to the point where you reject them when you know that your ancesters had the same condition of IMMIGRANT!

We need farm labor, but we also need a system of letting them work without draining our resources (public services).
