Just resting is taking to long for me to get better. I have things to do!

I've tried those Triaminic Thin Strips that melt away in your mouth but all it did was leave the taste of cough syrup in my mouth.

nothing if its a viral infection.. My children (well me and my whole family) have been through the wringer..
I have tried every thing out there on market.. It only helps the symptoms. I hate it when you are miserable and have every symptom, headache, body ache, runny nose, etc. and the medicine only stops these for a total of 15minutes, but you cant take another dose for 4 hours.. haha!
I find the cold will run its course no matter what.. about 7 to 10days.. You just have to rest, drink fluids and take some acedamenaphen (tylenol) for the aches and be done with it..

I just discovered Zicam nasal swabs! I have asthma so a cold can really bring me down and put me out for a very long time. So as soon as I started to get the runny nose and the congestion I bought a box of Zicam and started swabbing my nose inside every 4 hours. It really worked! I had my niece who is 9 and also has Asthma take it when she caught a cold and within 2 days she was all better! One of my buddies at work also took them and she got better too! I swear by them now! You can get them at Walgreens, Wal Mart, Kmart, Target etc. Try them, you'll feel better for it! glgl

When I feel cold symptoms coming on, I take Alka Seltzer Cold Plus for 2 days straight, as directed (every 4 hours, I think).

I haven't had a full fledged cold in years.

Well, other than the time when I bruised my ribs snowboarding and I had to take pain killers.

A steam room. Takes the respiratory passages to a temperature outside the optimum range for the rhinovirus.

Unfortunately, no medication currently available can cure the common cold.

Try this recipe. It is unbelievable: Boil a cup of water with 3 tablespoon of lemon, a teaspoon of ginger (most important part) and a bit of garlic (half of a teaspoon). Drink hot. You will see instant relief. If you like alcohol, a bit of rhum won't hurt.

According to my knowledge, there is no cure for the common cold. However, if you have any access to Tylenol Cold, which comes with one set for day (to keep you up) and a set for nighttime (to fall asleep quickly), then your cold will be gone. Though all of this information was taken from my little asthmatic brother, I just drink whiskey.
Thanks.
