I got my lip pierced about a month and a half ago, and I know it can take several months to heal, but I'm not sure what's going on is normal.

I've got a bump on the inside of my mouth which hasn't produced puss in weeks, but it is split. It's not incredible painful, but it doesn't seem to be getting better.

My piercer told me about a month ago that I should hold a small cup of "as hot as I can stand" water mixed with the sea salt to it a couple times a day. I do, but does anyone with any experience know of any other suggestions?

Is this an infection, or a keloid scar, or a part of the healing process?

Any advice is appreciated. :-)

I would almost guess scar tissue is forming. What is your history to scar tissue, some people get it and it keeps growing, sometimes forming huge bumps.

Infection: ? doubtful, something would have shown by now, pus, redness etc.
