It is true that Jesus was not born on Dec. 25. The reason that Christmas is celebrated in December is because Constantine a former Roman emperor held a council called the Council of Nicaea. At that council there were members of the church gathered there and they decided on everything form what day Jesus was born to what day Christians should go to church. I believe you're wrong. Jesus was born on the 25 of Dec. That's what Christmas celebrates. And I don't know how Christmas was started, I just know what it celebrates. That's also why Christmas is known as the happiest time of the year! (should be why)

At the time Christmas was created in AD 320, Mithraism was very popular. The early Christian church had gotten tired of their futile efforts to stop people celebrating the solstice and the birthday of Mithras, the Persian sun god. Mithras’ birthday was December 25. The catholic church held the Nicene Council and determined many doctrinal things including when the birth of Jesus would be celebrated.(don't know if it is spelled right)

Christmas has NOTHING to do with Jesus. Its origin is pagan, not to mention that birthdays; which are mentioned twice in the bible, are also considered pagan and Jesus and his disciples took no part in them. So the question is, would Jesus accept tainted worship? !

christmas was only declared by the pope of rome that december 25 is the birth of jesus but if you refer to the catholic encyclopedia they have admited that nobody knows the birth of jesus christ and only to prove that the roman catholic church have followed the wrong path to salvation. the ope is making his own decission and proxclamation
