Homosexuality is oppressed and is viewed as a sin by the Christian community (Leviticus 20:13), so why isn't Red Lobster being boycotted by Bible thumpers (Leviticus 11:9-12)?

So God deems certain things impure in the Old Testament, but changes his mind in Acts? What was the point?

"Can you pick and choose which Bible verses to follow?"

Yes. It's done every single day. Your example is just one of many passages that get ignored, while others are the toast of the town.

You mean those left-wingers have taken over Red Lobster?? Aaarghh! (just kidding!)No you can't pick and choose which ones to follow but you MUST discern and rightly divide and pray for wisdom and understand the difference in the old and new covenants so you know which of God's laws applies to us Christian Jews and Gentiles under the new covenant. The book of Hebrews is an excellent starting point for the Bible scholar novice in this regard. You remember who the author of confusion is?

the thing that people who do not read the Bible is that you do not understand that the old testament is just that, An OLD covenant...

Therefore we have a better covenant, The new testament of Jesus Christ. So if one is a Christian, the old law is null and void, because we have grace and mercy........ but homosexuality is spoken of in the new testament as well..... just like the issue with food was dealt with in the book of acts. Jesus told peter that ALL animals are good for food......

No you have to follow all or nothing. Which is why we follow the new testament, which is after the old testament red lobster code. And tip....Homosexuality is still a sin in the New testament.

Good question. Red Lobster is obviously more palatable to most christians than homosexuality. And their buttered biscuits are to die for.

Because in Acts 10 God clearly explains to Peter that everything He created is clean to eat now that the Messiah has come. No where does God say we can now have sex with the same sex. In fact, the NT remains opposed to it.

Good question. Why don't they also keep slaves, sell their daughters into slavery, and kill their children for talking back? It's all right there in Exodus (or maybe it was Leviticus ... probably Exodus).

Those were old covenant laws that pertained to the Jews. Jesus can to fulfill the laws and when He accomplished that we entered into a new covenant. Everything we eat is lawful to do so but we are instructed to give thanks for it.

Interesting question, since most christian communities base their theology on cut and paste scriptures.
