Well, if you're still sad and you think about hurting yourself, then you sound like the type to be, as I am getting over, being a doormat. (It would be great to find out I'm wrong, and if I am making an assumption, I'm sorry. This just seems a safe bet...)
Seriously, some wounds don't heal till AFTER we act like everything is OK.
When you get some assertiveness training, where you learn to deal with people by standing up for yourself without overdoing it, you start to fix the self-perceptions that still hurt. When others treat you with the respect you command, it gets better.
And when all is fixed in your present, you can let go fo your past. Mostly.
And even find forgiveness.
And the ability to know that you will never do that to your own kids.
Make sure to get blood tested by a doctor for any contributing hormonal or other factors, just in case. Meidacl problems often not the root cause for depression, etc., but make dealing with life in therapy only, absolutely impossible. Trust me.
Then, get some good help. I would say cognitive behavioral.
And if you can't for insurance reasons or whatever, at least get checked out physically, and remember that the past is past is PAST.
And the future is yours to create.
And YES, you can do it!
The more you treat yourself as though you can, and already are making it, the quicker and stronger it happens!
Go make it happen!

We are the same age, and I feel the same way. My dad was always putting me down, I was overweight all my life and that had alot to do with my peers and my father. When I was 15 I went on this major diet and lost all kinds of weight, he wasn't as bad to me then. It has scard me and I do get depressed when I think about it. I gained most of the weight back, and now I'm back the same size. So don't worry you are not alone, I feel the same way.

You sound normal to me. No one likes to be bullied and the memory of that happening is never good. Your going to have to learn to put this behind you. As for your dad, payback is a b*****. Just wait until he gets older.
