Awesome Question and thank you for partipating in Yahoo's Q & A. We lived in the Mojave Desert in California. I was 8 and my older brother was 9 when our parents decided to buy a new station wagon. Because of the dangers of living in a desert, any age can drive as long as it's on dirt. Our parents decided to give the old car to the two of us so that we could drive the 2 miles to our bus stop instead of walking on the days that we walked. It was a 1952 Ford Custom. Together, we spent 6 months completely rebuilding it from the ground up, upholstery, floors, motor, new paint, everything. The color was Sky Blue as it was originally. He taught us both how to drive and the rest is history. Got my first drivers license on my 16th birthday and had already driven over 200,000 miles since the age of 8. That's something I'll never forget. Larry

I had a 1968 Plymouth Fury III 4 door. My friends back in high school called it the "tank" because it was army green and it was huge. It had a 383 big block and we could fit 9 people in it and go to the drive in for.............5 bucks!!!!! I hit a deer with it and it still moved along with little damage. I sold it to buy a 1972 Plymouth Road Runner when I graduated high school. Too bad there aren't cars built that big anymore and equipped with real chrome bumpers.

1967 Chevelle 2dr w/ 327 and 4 bbl carb. Great car
Lots of fun sports cars after that one, some to drool for, but the most interesting - a pristine 1977 Cadillac Eldorado daily driver, about a mile long, fully loaded, sucked gas like a pig, laughed every time I drove it.
