Some people just lie, but not just for one reason in general, there are many reasons why people lie. Take a good look at how many times you've lied and tell me that you're a better person before you judge people. HELL! It's comments like this that really piss me off, some girl thinks that just because she hasn't met a perfect guy and all the rest are shitheads as far as she cares, and all her friends (all or mostly girls) say the same things she says about guys. Who the hell do you think you're judging?!!! Now I'm not perfect myself, but at least I try to be nice about what I tell a person. DAMN! You really need to change your insight on this ya know. Live in the shoes of a guy for a day or two, then you'll know why guys do what guys do.

I have lied to guys and sometimes is was to "not" hurt them and other times, it was for my own benefit too. Hey, I have to be honest here and I will admit I am guilty of a lie or two. But Lie's hurt and some more then others.
I am sorry if someone lied to you that hurt you badly. And since you left no details and I am going to assume that he hurt you. All I can say that no matter what the reason was it hurts and I hope you find the strength to get over it and move on. The more you allow it to upset you the longer the it takes for the wound to heal.

Because they're boys. They lack the experience and knowledge of basic moral standards. They think lying is the norm since many of their peers probably doing the same unethical acts.
We all lie sometimes in our lives. But to know when to lie and when to tell the truth is the difficult part. Lie that doesn't result in hurting others is not as bad as lie that causes harm to others.
People can not be prefect, they can only strive to reduce the degree of negative behaviors and promote positive ones.
Hopefully, through time and growth they will change and learn to be more honest. And that's when the boy will become a true man.

I'm a 'boy', and I do not lie. It's hard work keeping up with. I think you've just had some bad experiences. Believe me, lieing does not prefer a gender. Women lie too.

To get out of getting caught at whatever it is we're lying about, that's why we lie. Getting away with something is much better than getting caught at something.

For the same reason anyone else lies. To obtain an unfair advantage over the gullible by deception or to conceal an unsavoury element of a person's past .
