I can't even begin to count how many time I've heard sentences like "Good deeds won't get you to Heaven, if you don't squeeze Jesus into your heart you'll burn in Hell forever".

If people wanna believe such utter nonsense, it's part of their religious freedom, so that's all fine by me.

But shouldn't we at least protect the children on our planet from this insane lack of morals?

Think of yourself in a courtroom. You've set fire to a house, killed the occupants and were caught hiding in a hole. The baliffs bring you in front of the judge and he asks you what you have to say for yourself.

You say, "You know judge, this was just one thing. I've given money to charity, helped little old ladies across the street, never kicked the dog and just this morning, I waxed your car."

Any judge in his right mind is going to laugh you out of the courtroom if you think that your good deeds will keep you from punishment.

Same with Jesus. We screwed up, He died and paid the price for those screwups and all He asks in return is repentance (turning away from sin..screwing up) and for us to trust in Him as the Savior.

Hardly insane, that thought process.

Wherever did you hear that phrase? The first part, yes.
Imagine if you are before a judge for a serious crime. Somebody comes up and talks about all your good deeds. The judge is not interested in your good deeds, he wants to know if you committed the crime.
But nobody talked about "just squeezing Jesus into your heart".
Christianity is about true repentance and conversion. Someone who really repents, changes.
Good people? The Bible says there are none. But if someone truly has repented, and has Jesus in his heart, he starts moving toward being a "good person".
No Christian will tell you it doesn't matter if you're a good person.

It doesnt mean you are free to be immoral.. thats where you're wrong. Think of it like this... we are all made to do good things, any bad thing keeps us from heaven UNLESS we are repentant and forgiven through Jesus.

A man makes drinking glasses. Every glass is made to drink from. As soon as one cracks, its no good and cant be used. It doesnt matter how many wonderful drinks this glass held, if its cracked, it's trash. However the man develops a glue to use so the glass can be used again but if the glass doesnt allow the glue to stick. It's just trash.

Jesus is the glue that mends the cracks.

Well, shouldnt you acknowledge the other half of the argument?

If you receive Jesus, you can get the Holy Spirit. This is the key. Then you are guided into all righteousness. You dont have to try to be good, the fruit of the spirit will produce love and kindness. Its not even like obediance any more....it just happens

Blessings
David

This isn't a balanced presentation of truth. Faith without works is dead. There is not any other way to get to heaven except by Jesus Christ, Chief Shepherd and the door to the sheepfold. (if you try to get in any other way, you're the same as a thief and a robber) He said "my sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow." He is actively calling and seeking all those lost lambs. The ones who are safe in His fold desire each and every lamb that the wolf (satan) has tried to devour to be found by Jesus Whose eyes are going to and fro about the earth to rescue just one endangered soul. He will then pick the lamb up, mend it's wounds, pour healing salve on, and carry it on His shoulders to where it belongs. Then we should let Him lead us into green pastures and still waters for His name's sake and restore our souls in the valley. Is that something you can grasp? God bless.

Religion is where lots of thig is hide behind by priest ,church or temples or etc. Religion never let a man to he him self cos the higher level religion people is scared of something which is revealed the truth. Bcos they cannot get the respect and people won't go to them. If one can find your own medicine for yor sick why u need a doctor. We must let our children grow with the nature and society not religion bcos when the rite time they will chooose the best live this life.

Christianity doesn't imply a lack of morals, it simply means that Christians aren't judged by their deeds. I does though tell Christians that their deeds are "proof" of their acceptance of Christ. Christianity does tell it's adherents that good works and a moral life are demanded of them as Christians. It simply says that the good deeds are not the price of admission to heaven.

Your analysis of the Christian faith is faulty.

BTW... I'm not a Christian.

the worth of a person is not measured by the standards of mankind when relating to the bible. Believers are expected to do good works as a reflection of their changed hearts. There motives are based on nothing more than serving.

I think anyone who tells another person they are going to burn in hell is misguided at best. Hypocritical definately. Paving their own path to Hell, probably.

I would say it was worthless. However, good is a relative term when applied to people. Nobody's perfect. I think it's the desire to be better that separates us from animals.
