Electrical engineering is a varied field. I studied laser design as an example. This had just as much physics as electrical engineering, if you believe there is a difference.
Basically EE deals with understanding and designing everything from nuclear reactors to electronic circuits.

Try a large engineering university's website, such as MIT. Search for the Electrical Engineering Department. From there, you should be able to find information on some things they do.

Go through any good University and they'll put you right.
Electrical engineering is all aspects from design to fabrication of electrical compounants, machines etc.
