I suggest you go to a Catholic Mass with a Catholic friend and experience it for yourself.

With love in Christ.

It's not the same EVERYWHERE, as there are a few different Catholic Churches, but here's an example.

Coming into the church, some will bless themselves with Holy Water.

Then, they go to thier pew and pray or meditate for a while.

The music ministry (if one is present) will lead the parish in an opening song, and the lector will give the opening words. A number of prayers and such are said, and the first reading (from the old testament) is read.

The music minsitry or lector will lead the congregation in the psalms.

A second reading is done, from the New Testament.

The Gospel is read.

The priest gives a sermon or homily.

The rite of the Eucharist is done and the congregation receives communion.

A final blessing is said, and the congregation is blessed.

A closing song may be done by the music ministry.

That's REAL basic, and there is much more that actually goes on, but it would be a rather long post to go into complete detail.

We stand and sing as the priest and alter servers process in. The priest blesses us and we make the sign of the cross. We confess that we have sinned and ask for Gods mercy. We give Glory to God. Then we have an opening prayer. Then we listen to Bible readings. There are 3 readings. The first is usually from the Old Testament, the second from the New Testament and the third from the Gospel. We also have a reading from the book of Psalms. Then the priest explains the readings to us and apply them to our lives today. Then we say the Creed which is a prayer that states what we believe. Then we pray what is called the General Intercession, which are prayers for people, the church, public authority, the salvation of the world, etc. Then we take up a collection and present the gifts of bread and wine to the priest to be changed into the Body and Blood of Jesus. Then we have the Eucharistic prayer and the Consecration in which the bread and wine become the actual Body and Blood of Jesus, because He told us to do this in His memory. Then we pray the Lord's Prayer, and share a sign of peace with one another. Then we go to Communion and receive the Body and Blood of Jesus. Then we have a prayer after Communion. The priest blesses us and we sing as the priest processes out. Then we go out and share the good news with others.

God bless,
Stanbo

Well, usually I like to start by visiting the bathroom, Catholic churches almost always have those little disposable paper cups, I fill one with piss and then dump it into that little holy water basin thing they have in the front of the church. And then I bust out a can of pringles or a bag of captain crunch that I've brought especially for the purpose during the sermon, fill my mouth full and loudly chew this dry-a$s $hit so noone around me can hear anything, at Communion time I take a drink of wine when the priest puts the wafer in my mouth I boldly chew it right in front of him, then spit it on the ground and say "This tastes like $hit!", when the priest quits talking for a minute I stand up from the pew very suddenly and say "Hey, Hey, Hey, I smell a$s!!" On my way out of the church I return to the bathroom, pile all the paper I can into the trash-can and set it on fire for good measure.

Go to the service and do what everyone else does. Stand when they stand etc. One exception. Do not receive the Eucharist. When they go up to receive communion stay sitting or kneeling in your pew (not all will go up so you won't be alone).
