I am not a Christian, although the man who gave it to me is. I wear it because I love him and respect him. My religion is "none", but I am starting to lean towards the concept of a higher power. For 31 years, I was an atheist.

You're like the Leaning Tower of Piza, slowly leaning but never actually falling. What do you suppose would happen if you were to actually fall for Christianity, let alone the guy who brought you to it?

Here's how I see it. You are a sensitive person who already believes in something. Why rush or push it your perception of things. And why give yourself over to organized religion that spends tens of thousands on organs, pianos, carpeting, stained glass, musical instruments, and so on and so on and does little charity work. You believe something now! don't let someone, anyone else, tell you what that is. And when you decide whatever you decide on I hope its not the christian faith. The christian faith has a real dark side that is displaying itself more and more putting politics first, just look where we are, but you decide. Some of the bible is actually pornographic in the extreme. Christians stop reading the old testament and forget that the horror stories in there are part of that reason. For reference I refer you to this web site, www.nobeliefs.com/DarkBible/DarkBibleContents.htm Best of luck with whatever you choose and thanks for sharing.

Need more information.
After all, wearing a cross does not make you a Christian of any denomination anymore than wearing a shark's tooth makes you a shark.
In the end, it is just a piece of jewellery. Real faith is in the heart, not the bling.

it could signify christianity, but material things dont necessarily represent a religion. what i mean is that you would know your own religion without having a cross speak for you. If you have to ask what your own religion is, wearing the cross is essentially pointless except for the fact that its a nice accessory

Sounds like you are not any religion. If you are starting to lean to a higher power, it sounds like it is simply because your boyfriend is Christian.

It depends! The cross symbolizes Christianity but not all that sayeth Lord! Lord! makes it to the kingdom. So you are either a christian or a hypocrite.

It depends on what you believe in. Some people who aren't religous wear crosses around their necks. Only you can decide that for yourself...I can't really help.

is it right side up, or upside down? is it roman, celtic, greek, nazi? Is it the "broken" cross of the "peace" symbol? hard to tell, and you may wear it as simple a decoration with no religious significance. not enough info

How should I know......If I wear an "ugly" cross around my neck, does that mean I'm a different denomination?
