i have chipboard cuboards over my food prep area and they are flaking into my food. what is in the chipboard and can it harm my family and is it legal to have them in that state

sounds like premade cabinets which is what i call pressed sawdust with a lamainate covering. they do look funky over the years and around moisture start failing early. i would consider replacing them when your budget allows

If chipboard is not in the recipe, I would replace the cabinets, or use a substitute for fiber.

I don't know about the legality,but chipboard,especially if it is peeling ,is very dangerous to your health.
It is full of glue that produces phoalmalide.
