This is very sad that you have to ask this question if you are having puppies.
Anyway, watch her tummy to see if it gets tight, just like a woman having contractions. Also, is her vulva swollen? Has she let down milk in her teats?
If she isn't pregnant I would get her to the VET asap as she could have Pyometra. We recently had to preform ER surgery on a dog after she gave birth to 2 still born pups and had to remove the third along with infected uterus!
If she does give birth after 24 hours go to vet for an after whelping injection to help her expel all after birth and let down her milk!
Make sure you have her spayed asap. She will thank you. As well as all the other pups in the shelters!

Is she is looking for a place to have the puppies such as a closet or if she is going under a table or in a corner of the room? That could be why she is pacing because she can't find a good spot.
If so then get her a place to have those puppies ASAP! In a quiet area of the house, put down blankets or towels that you don't care if they get dirty. Coax her there and see if she stays.
If she keeps looking, follow her and put down the blankets wherever she ends up.
You will be happy in the end because you won't find a litter of puppies in a closet on some expensive linen (like my Mom did when our dog had pups when I was a kid)

G'day Goose,
Thank you for your question.
Dog gestation lasts for about 60 days but can happen between 54 and 72 days.
You should get a whelping box and supplies ready for the big day. You will need scissors, dental floss and povidone iodine to disinfect the ends. Place it in a familiar but private place and line it with old towels.
You can tell when your dog is ready to give birth by taking her rectal temperature with a thermometer. (I know not a fun job). Her normal rectal temperature is 100 to 102 Fahrenheit. A day before giving birth, it will drop by a few degrees.
During the first stage of labor, your dog may exhibit signs of restlessness, panting, vomiting and unwillingness to eat so she may be in labor. I would contact your vet and change into old clothing as it is a messy process.
I would prepare for labor even if she isn't ready to give birth.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Regards

yes it is possible that she is getting ready to have her puppies. all the signs that she is showing is going into labor. just make her comfortable.i vreed golden retrievers and my female did the same thing. when they are getting ready to have the pups they will nest making them very uncomfortable and to where they will pace all over and they will pant very hard.when she is going into labor she will not eat at all and she will pant harder then before. when the pushing starts she will whine and then usually a pup will follow. well with her breathing and looks like she hurts, that is a sign that she will be due soon (7 days, give or take a day or two). dogs carry for about 65-68 days and with her acting this way she is very close. just keep her in your sights at all time and if you have to go anywhere then you will need to take her with you or ask a friend or family member to come to watch her while you go out. someone will need to be with her till the pups come. well don't panic or get worried just sit back and make as comfortable as possible. you don't need to do anything unless she shows signs of trouble, but if that happens you will need to call your vet. contact them anyways because if you do need them they will be prepared for your call just in case. good luck with your new puppies.

If you notice her wanting to make a nest to have her puppies then you will know that its close to her having them,,, and if you see her belly get hard or you can place your hand on her belly softly and see if she is having any contrations, you will need to get her a box to have her puppies in or you can use a kiddie pool they work real well,,, it needs to be very quiet for her and not alot of comotion around cause she needs to be very calm, and not stress out,,,, when she is in labor then she will be panting alot and maybe even cry,,, also you need to get some bottles to feed the puppies and goats milk just in case the mom cant feed them for some reason that way you know that you have it on hand,,, and one more thing if someone tell you not to touch the puppies dont listen to them cause puppies need human contact as soon as they are born I am a Min Pin Breeder and hold and handle mine as soon as they are born to weigh them,,, I hope this helps and good luck with the new puppies and Congrad!!!!!! on the new puppies

you could be there all night, leave her alone and let her do her bussiness, but keep a good watch on her, if she is bareing down hard and not delivering a pup she is in trouble and you need a vet, but a dog can be in labor for for what seems to you for a long time and be all right. it took my boxer 8 hours to have 7 pups...good luck and let us know how she did

Get her a nice comfortable spot where she can be alone, I heard when dogs have babies they like to be in a warm comfortable spot alone...
