We just bought a house, and the previous owner and their neighbours were very close for over 30 years, and never put up a fence. The neighbour enters their yard through our side of the fence as it's closer to their garage... we don't want to put a physical fence if we don't really have to, and the only thing is that we have a dog, and although the neighbour says they won't mind, but we don't want our dog to "go" in their yard... We are thinking of an invisible fence, but not sure if it will work. I have read the other questions and answers and understand it depends on the dog whether it will work, and my dog is medium sized, and usually easily trained when it comes to boundaries.
Are there manufacturer's guarantees in case it doesn't work for my dog?

We installed an Innotek from PetsMart a couple of years ago and it worked until our dog figured out he could run thru it. Also it quit working and the thought of trying to figure out where there was a break in the wire or if the electronics were broken etc etc, were overwhelming. We recently had an Invisible Fence installed and I can tell you that we wish we had done that in the first place and the main reason is that if we have any problems they come out and fix it. The motherboard is guaranteed for life. The collar has many more settings and they can take the delay in the correction off of the collar if you have an exceptionally stubborn dog. They also told me that about 60% of their work is replacing owner installed fences like PetSafe and Innotek. This represents our experience, humbly submitted. I wish someone had told me all this.

Invisible Fence is a name brand. They are the original and, from my experience, best brand on the market. Invisible Fence does their own training, and guarantees it. They install, trail the dogs, and do follow up. Their website and regional reps are very helpful and can answer any specific questions you would have. Invisible Fence networks with veterinary practices to gain both referrals and to improve their brand recognition (most people think that Invisible Fence is the product, not the name brand). Their products are used by all the the vets, techs, and office staff at the practice I work at, as well as many of our clients.

understand that your dogs will nevertheless p.c. supervised with the form of fencing by way of fact it would not shop different canines out of your backyard and additionally if the dogs does flow the 'line' he probable isn't coming decrease back into the backyard by way of fact he gets a ask your self then too. I actual have heard of dogs fights occurring while different canines enter your canines territory and additionally canines who've ran off upon getting on the different part. they're extra useful then no longer something yet no longer the main suitable a guy or woman would desire to do. For peace of strategies i p.c. to propose an above floor fence.

Not sure of a brand, but my friend had one and the dog could just leap over it. If he got far enough away from the wire it didn't pick up that he crossed it. Just be careful.
