I personally believe is that the body is part of our soul but with the power of God it can be given immortality (so people can have adaptations and abilities like the angels). I don't believe that God intended that we should appropiate his life and power as if we cannot have it taken away if we abuse it. I believe it was taken way when the tree of life was taken away. I believe God will give eternal life to those who want it and will appreciate it. I believe we live onlt one life and that there is a resurrection after the grave, but between the grave and the resurrection is nothing. All our memories are asleep and when resurrection comes, the last thing you'll remember is the second before you died. Angels can masquerade as human beings (some people think angels have this obsession of appearing in the form of dead loved ones and speaking as them too.). Sure you may be felt being outside of your body, but that's only a projection of you mind which exists as long as your brain is functioning. I believe it's possible that the spirit world may give us visions of things around us and of other people's lives (not to be confused with "pastlife". Past life in my belief is an old attitude you left behind in the only life you have).

The "soul" is a concept created by people fearing death.

The mind is what the brain does. Death is when it stops doing it.

Your spirit united with your body makes a soul. Your mind is part of your spirit. Spirits are eternal. Bodies are mortal until after the resurrection when they are reunited (in perfect form) with their spirits and then they become eternal as well.

The Tree of Life wasn't taken away, but the way to it was blocked when Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden. This was because if Adam and Eve had partaken of the fruit of the Tree of Life, they would have again become immortal and would have had no means - in their bodies - of repenting of their sins. They would have lived forever in the existence to which they had come and they would have been alone - no children, no friends or family.

The way back to the Tree of Life was provided through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Between the grave (death) and the resurrection, there is a period and place where we wait and either teach or are taught about the Plan of Salvation. When we are resurrected and united with our bodies, then we will be judged according to our actions, our words, and the thoughts and intents our minds, and desires of our hearts.

After we die and are resurrected, we will have a perfect memory of all our past life.

Angels can and do appear to some people but angels of God would never attempt to deceive the person to whom they appeared as to who they are - they wouldn't attempt to be who they aren't. "Angels" of the devil do lie and have attempted to deceive, but they don't have bodies so they can be discovered if you offer to shake their "hand" you wouldn't feel anything.

Except for little children, we only have one chance at mortality. Any "memory" of a past life is either induced by some external means or (perhaps) its is a life of someone else we remember "watching" before we were born into mortality.

Little children who die before they reach the age of accountability will have an opportunity to be raised (either by their parents or someone else) during the Millenium.

You cannot separate a man who is to love the Lord with all his soul, mind, body, and strength. We are made in His image because our souls will live eternally. We will become like the angels, neither male nor female or any marriage involved, when we enter the kingdom of heaven if we are covered by the blood of Jesus that is. Angels are not ghosts. Saints did appear from the graveyards close to Jesus when He arose from the grave as the power of His resurrection was so powerful and such a witness it gave quite a few people a scare. The Bible teaches against "New Age" we are gods within ourselves, not to be confused with our being made kings and priests in Christ Jesus.

Understand the concept and definition of soul... you would be wise my son!

At that time of the Big Bang ... the total Cosmos is but the size us of half a thumb ... everything we call and know as Brahmaand (the mighty Cosmos)! Something unbelievable from the point of view of a common man ... yet, it is a true fact of life explained in detail in the Bhagavad Gita also.

This size of the Cosmos ... a cluster of pure energy ... the combined forces of all purified Atmans souls in the Brahmaand (Cosmos) ... is what we know as God, the Almighty Creator. The total sum of all purified Atmans souls at a given period of time remains constant and this we designate as the power of God, the Almighty Creator.

Every Atman soul is but a miniscule form of the bigger Atman soul, the Parmatman ... God, the mighty Creator himself. Atman soul is but a part of the puzzle ... God, the Almighty Creator being the whole puzzle. No clustering of thoughts ... everything is absolutely clear!

After the Big Bang has occurred ... all Atmans souls get scattered all over the Cosmos ... their prime purpose being to get a body so that they can cleanse themselves of all the impurities. For this it has to pass through a chain of 8.4 million manifestations ... a total life span of about 96.4 million years. Every Atman soul starts on its cosmic journey as an amoeba and subsequently as a mosquito, futther evoluting into a tree ... then an animal and finally into a human being.

That is all there is to life ... the small span of 70 years in the life of a human being is nothing compared to the total travel of 96.4 million years ... every Atman the soul within has to travel in a cosmic life span.

When the body decays and the Atman soul looks forward to a new body ... there are three stages it has to undergo ... the first stage being that the Atman the soul within immediately gets a new body ... if the manifestation occurs immediately then there is no Swarga Heaven or Naraka hell.... the Atman the soul within has to pass through. These stages are bypassed by the Atman the soul within. More on god here- http://www.vijaykumar.com/atman_and_definition.html

Wow that is a long question or should I say dissertation. Sounds more like a thesis. No the body is not part of the soul. The body is simply a shell. The soul is your essense, it is the matter that holds your emotional and mental framework together along with the remembrance of the good and bad you have done. However, this too is only opinion.
