I'd advice against it. I wouldn't let my students do it. Take the appropriate precautions. Most places won't allow you to ride without shoes. I have been stepped on many times and never experienced pain. It is when they are shawed (shoes placed on which generally is for horses who walk on pavement) and when a horse actively stomps down is generally when injuries occur. Shoes protect your feet.
I have swam with horses so I was wearing just a bathing suit. It can be done if it is appropriate, you just have to be aware of the risks and pay attention. Native Americans rode with just mochasins and I never saw illustrations of tribal members with missing toes.
Just because you don't like shoes is not a valid enough reason.

Not a wise choice. good solid boots is her best bet. Horses will walk through brush and you always run the chance of a horse bolting for many reasons. Bare feet can be ripped up pretty bad when the horse runs through brush.
Horses, even the calmest sweetest ones, have a mind of their own and can be frightened.
I'm a Rancher and ride horses every morning and every evening I always prepare for the worst. though it seldom happens.

I sure wouldn't if I was you.
My mother has owned a lot of horses, and one of them accidentally stamped on her foot one time when she was wearing light shoes, breaking several bones in her foot!
It was...ugly to say the least.
If you'd seen it you'd wear shoes. Substantial ones. Her light shoes offered almost no protection, and she had been around horses for many years when this happened... Not a new rider at all. Play it safe.

No you should always wear a good sturdy shoe when riding a horse. Preferbly a shoe or boot with a heal so your foot can;t slip through the sturrip.

No, I always make sure my horse has its hoofs on, and most of the time, it wears its horseshoes.
