I do not remember the source, but I remember reading an interesting background article which gave a count of 33,000 promises in 66 books from Genesis through Revelation.
There are at least four dozen different types of promises in the Bible. If there are 70 promises for each type, the above estimate would be about right.

The Bible you refer too is a book which was written by the hand of many men for men. Any promises that are contained within such a book were made by a man not by a god. The Bible was not written by a god.

The number of promises is about equal to the number of curses. Right before God disappeared, right around the time of the prophet Malichi, the curses were numerous. Why do you ask?
