Herpes is a virus that produces a blister that either occurs in the oral area or the genital area. It usually forms in clusters that will burst, and hurt. There can be itching, but it is mostly painful.
Ringworm is a fugus that appears anywhere on the body, but mainly on the extremities. It itches like eczema, and often resembles it. It usually isn't painful, and will develop "rings" around the affected area (Herpes doesn't). It can be treated with over-the-counter medications such as Blue Star Ointment, or any kind of anti-fungal cream. Herpes can't be treated this way--you have to have a prescription of Valtrex.
Hope this helps some.

Herpes is supposedly very painful. Slightly raised blisters sorta look like water blisters.
Ringworm is flat & it is just that in a "ring" or circle form. Sometimes it has a scabbed over look to it.

Blekk!!! ..... They are both very gross..
Ringworm looks exactly how it sounds and usually forms under the skin.
Herpes are different , a person can get them on their mouth ( as cold sores ) they can also be transmitted by kissing someone or by coming in contact sexually with someone who has genital herpes.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that gets it's name from the fact that the rash is circular. Herpes rashes are usually vesicular (blister like).
When in doubt, call your doctor! Rashes can be hard to diagnose with eyeballing them.

An outbreak due to herpes is exquisitely painful. Ringworm is, at most, itchy.
