Cats that live to be old cats stay in the house. Cats that go outside get hurt, and not just by dogs. There are all kinds of animals out there that are dangerous to cats. Other cats, even. If they eat a mouse, a mole or a rabbit, they can get worms. For sure, if they go outside and they don't have the once a month flea stuff on them, they get fleas and that can give them tapeworm and flea allergies and get your house all buggy. If they don't have all their shots, they can get diseases like leukemia from other cats who have it. There are some cat diseases that they don't have shots for yet, like FIP. Then there is traffic, and nasty ppl who put out poison and your cat might catch a mouse that ate poison and get poisoned that way.
You need to let your mom read this and talk to her about keeping the cat in the house. You can get really neat toys to use to give your cat exercise and it would be a lot safer.

Well if you are worried about it don't let the cat outside some dogs can kill a cat if they are very aggressive. Pit Bulls sometimes the people that raise them to fight sometimes use a cat to train them to fight it's a horrible thing I never let my cat outside I live in a large apt complex and sometimes I see dogs running around once I saw a Pitt bull roaming around near my building. Also my manager will call animal control if they see strays or animals roaming around. And other residents here they let their cat outside and one cat was gone for several days but did come back home. They can get injured at the very least and you might have to take the cat to the vet to get stiches or something worse.

You should worry, it is a known fact that outdoor cats do not live as long as indoor cats because of the dangerous elements outside of the house and your control. Cats are generally smart and should be ok but if he does get caught, it will not be good. Can you fence in your yard with a cat fence? That way he can go outside but stay within your yard. Once we buy a house, we are doing that but until then, my cats will stay indoor cats.

Okay, first let me say that I don't like it when people allow their pets to run loose through the world. Second, is your cat spayed or neutered? If not, you might end up with a knocked up kitty if you own a girl, or worse yet, your boy might be out knocking up other kitties. The problem then, is that produces even more cats that are running free. I would suggest that if you are seriously worried about your cat, keep it indoors.

Well, no one can tell you whether or not to worry, I think it is only natural to worry a little bit about an animal that you love, however, cats have been getting around out there for ages! They have lots of defense methods and they are very fast and they can climb! Cats really love sitting up watching things, (like silly dogs)! Accidents happen, but I bet your beloved little pet will be just fine. Accidents can happen in the home, too, so there are no guarantees anywhere. Just use caution, but let your cat be a cat...they are very curious and need to be able to check things out in order to exercise that curious brain of theirs. I would just make sure that your kitty is spayed or neutered before I left it out very long. That can get them in more trouble than the dogs!

Good lord, your worried? Put the cat inside where it belongs. It is taunting the dogs and if it gets killed it's your own fault! Cats do not NEED to be outside to have "fun".
Not only that, but your can goes into peoples yards and digs up flower beds to poop, gets on the hoods of cars and scratches them all up costing the owner of the car $$ to have it fixed..
Be responsible.
