Anything that is given unto us in the Word of God is good material for preaching. But if you are going to please the Lord, then you must be sure to preach what He would have you to preach. And the only way that you are going to know what He would have you to preach about, is to ask Him, not anyone else. But it may take much prayer to be certain that you know for sure what God would have you to preach about. You may even have to fast as well as pray. But you can be sure that God will give you the right answer. I have preached many times; and I always wanted to be sure to preach what God would have me to preach. But I have also made mistakes a few times; and not heard the correct answer from God. But it was my fault; not God's fault. If you sincerely seek Him, He will give you the direction that you need. And I have gotten up before a crowd of people before, and still not be certain what it was that I was to preach about. But God always came through for me. Just ask and trust Jesus. He will show you the right way. The best way that I have found my message many times, is to just open the Word of God, and start looking through it; and God would always lead me to the right passage of scripture. Don't worry. God will never fail you.

Love! Use John 21:15-17. Many believe this where Jesus reinstates Peter for Denying Him. True, but, there a much deeper meaning when you know the Greek words for love being used in this conversation. Jesus was teaching Peter about love. Two words, Agape and Phlio (Spelling?). Agape is ultimate God love. Phlio is Brotherly love. As you read these verses insert Agape when Jesus says love and Phlio when Peter says love. Then in verse 17 when Jesus says love insert Phlio. You should get the picture then. That why Peter's feelings were hurt. He finally realized he could not say Agape at that time. But, later, believe me, Peter learned of Agape. Just read the next few verses. Then have some verses from around the Old and New Testament that really prove a person had the Agape for God and others.

Hi Rene Verizon950d. Preach about salvation. This is by far the most important reason why Christ came to this earth. Start with John 1:29
"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
And we must be very careful to teach the truth when we teach or preach to others. God tells us in James 3:1:
"My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment."
God is telling us that those who teach and those who preach will be judged more harshly. Be sure when you teach or preach anything about God that you can back it up with scripture.

Preaching is a calling from God. If you are called to preach, you usually either have a sermon running through your spirit all the time, or God will give you one. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you should talk about, and what He wants the congregation to hear. It really is nothing for us to give you "advice" on. You can't go to the world, or even other Christians that aren't in tune with what your specific body has going on it it.
be blessed. Vicki

Preach about not being hypocritical. If we say love, then we must love. If we encourage people to be tolerant than we must be tolerant. So many people talk about the love of God, and going out and spreading his word - but do they really do it?
Things like this. What do you think Chrisitans should be, or should be doing - that they say the do - but they really don't? Hope this helps.

Blessings to you Rene,
A good topic to talk on at church or even in a different setting is to tell others what having Jesus in your life has done for you. By relating this information, you will be able to lead into explaining how easy it is for anyone to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Tell them how Jesus is a loving, compassionate, and merciful God. No matter what anyone has done, He loves them unconditionally. He is just waiting for anyone of us to ask Him to come into our heart and lives. He is not pushy or arrogant or just waiting for us to mess up. But, He is there for us. All we have to do is just call on Him. He wants to be our friend, as well as our Lord & Saviour. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes.

How about living the higher life on earth every single day of the week. Crucifying the flesh daily instead of just Sunday morning?
