I am having an extremely hard time accepting the role of women in the bible. Why would God make me a female and implant in me none of the the characteristics that are pleasing to Him?

(FYI-I am using my spouse's avatar)

I have my own quandaries.

According to medical science ALL humans are created female until the 7th week when the X Chromosome comes into play and converts the female organs into male organs in an embryo that was designed to be male.

Logically one can help but wonder about this and further wonder why God would created a person that can't bear young and reproduce. Logically God should have created Eve first and then Adam from Eve. That would fit the motiff.

HOWEVER there is also the MIRROR theory in which the ORIGINAL works MALE TO FEMALE but then it pertetuates in the opposite form.

It is entirely possible ADAM ate the apple and then re-wrote history because he's bigger and meaner than Eve. I wouldn't put it past Man or Adam.

However, we must get back to orthodox reality in which the Bible says Eve did the original sin and induced Adam to also do it. Got got angry first at the snake, then at Eve and then at Adam.

If that is all true, then Adam and all men after that, bear a grudge against Eve and women and designed things to keep women from working their charms on the male mind.

Men were put in charge of everything outdoor, hard, heavy and dangerous. Women were the bakers, cookers, cleaners and baby makers. Men did all the relgious stuff. Women were excluded.

There are many citations in the Bible putting woman down to second place as a result of the original sin.

We are, however, today, liberalizing this concept, although 60- 75% of the Christian Churchs will not ordan women nor let them wear robes and lead services.

Women are delegated to Sunday school, teaching children, etc.

Just like it used to be in the 1950s when women were ONLY allowed to take Medicine in College if their goal was to be a Pediatrician. If a woman declared she wanted to be a surgeon she would ousted from the school.

God made you in his image. The bible tells us that there is neither male or female
(Gensis 3:28)
Peter also tells us that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). For many years women was repressed and beat down by men that totally and selfishly misinterpreted the scriptures. Jesus anointed women over and over in his walk and ministry and allowed them to help to do what he had to do.
There is a book out there called 10 lies the church tells about women. You should be able to pull it up under that title and all your question's will be answered. And I would advise you to seek out a church that is preaching the truth of God's word and does not condemn. According to John 3:17 God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn it but to give life and life more abundantly. Sister pray and ask God to reveal his word to you and do not accept the lie that says because you are woman you are not worthy.. Remember God is not a respecter of person's, and in the spiritual things there is neither male nor female.

I agree with you. It seems that women have a lowly and meaningless role in many parts of the Bible.... In the Old Testament, however, God used women for many things. They were Judges, prophets, etc. God let Esther and Jael save lives and act in corageous roles.

Personally, I think that when the Bible was translated over the years, the men doing the translating have changed things subtly to make women look vile.

My dear sister, don't you know that God created you to be exactly as your are because He loves you that way? Don't let anyone tell you that you are not good enough, or do not have the same precious qualities, as the wonderful women in the Bible. You do! The next time you look into a mirror know that the lady looking back at you was formed and fashioned by God's own hand to look just the way He wants her to look (and act, and think, and speak, and love.)

The Bible is a story book...written and re-written by men to reflect the times they lived in..
Men since the beginning of time have been jealous of the Life-bringers (woman's) role in the universe..women have all the power, they always have..
and because of their jealousies Men have demonized women, and their natural functions..(menses, child bearing, etc.)
Men have Bastardized the written word to cover up their own inadequacies...
The Deuterocanonicals and Apocrypha have some wonderful stories about the strength of women

why would u think that God implants women with unpleasing characteristics? Eve was so loved by the Father--not only that but women are not required to be circumcised--and why? he knows we are born HIS! we do not need that declaration that a man needs in this case. women are born circumcised! if u ever come to understand your worth--and maybe it wont be until HEAVEN that u do--but women are the special ones to God--Wisdom was named for a woman--becuase it is easier for us to find favor with God--he must work harder with a man then a woman--you have no clue! we are "daddy's little girls" the sons must always prove their love--we girls, never have to--he knows us!!!

Hello.
First, God is sovereign. He decides what is good and what is not good. He CHOSE to bring you into this world as a woman. This is a good thing. For you are the "other half" of man. Some men are not complete without a woman. We have our mother's to thank for our lives. And we thank God for woman as well. At least, I do.

When a child is born he or she is born in sin and death. (Ephesians 2:1).
It is our sin nature that we are born with and this is not pleasing to God. It is when we turn to Christ and ask God to change us and we come to Christ that we become born-again and baptized into the family of God that we are now made into the image of God. We are "babies" in Christ and grow up IN Christ and become transformed (Rom. 12:1-2) more and more into the image of His Son, Jesus. These are the characteristics God delights in as we become more like His Son.

You should not be discouraged about your life if you follow Christ. God will make you more and more into a woman of God and when you start to grow up in Christ you begin to do things and live a life that is pleasing to God. He makes you into His own image. You should thank God for this as God has raised up many women in the bible to fulfill his will and to make them true believer's in His promises. God does not change. What women in the bible became as followers and believer's in God can also become yours as you stay true to God and His Word.
God knows what He is doing in you being born a woman. This is a very high calling in life. don't reject your call nor reject the counsel of God in this choice.

The Bible was written for a time, people, and culture far different from what we have today. It is important to keep that in mind. There are many things the Bible tells us to do that are important, love thy neighbor. However it tells the wife to submit to her husband, and for husbands to love their wives - in Ephesians - if we take that literally, wives don't have to love their husbands at all. They just have to submit to them - do you see a little of what I am talking about? The role of Women in the Bible is very different than what it is today, and that's all right. Times are changing, and change brings new views. Women's characteristics please God very much. We are all made in his image.

Just a thought about that. I am a man and to my understanding of the Bible, and based on my experience. Anything that is of Spiritual response or obedience does NOT come naturally. We are proned to do as the sinful nature directs, and to disobeying God. So don't expect it to come naturally, but accept what God is directing you through His Word and be obedient. God will add the blessing, as He always does, to your willingness to obey God.

Pray about it.
