First, a seizure is uncontrolled activity in the brain. Silent seizures are ones where people go blank for a little while and they lose touch with their surroundings. Seizures themselves are not serious, but the underlying cause might be. The greatest risks of seizures are traffic accidents if a person has a seizure while driving, and brain damage when a person falls and hits their head during a seizure.
