It depends on where you live, but according to the FWP (Fish, Wildlife, and Parks)In Montana. There are 6.2 does for every buck. That is average between Mule deer and Whitetail.

There is about the same number, but you don't see those wise old buck deer.If you've ever been out in the wood you'll see the does first and they will look over there shoulder back at the bucks that you never see

The hunters would be better to answer than myself but I do know I see a lot more doe than buck. I have deer in my yard often. Yesterday, there were 3 in my front yard. I have never one time seen a buck. Don't know the reason for this.

Does, by far. I have deer that come to my feeder and most of them are does. When the bucks horns fall off they start coming in and you can see where their antlers were. There's only a few bucks and a lot of does and her baby or babies from the previous year.

There is more does because it only takes one buck to breed a bunch of does. Nature has it's own way of doing things.

There are more doe, but the number varies from place to place.
The numbers can range from 1:1 (rough ratio) to as much as 50:1.

These guys seem to think the 'perfect ratio' is 3:1
