I don't know if this works on brunette hair, but I once got some high lights that didn't come out the way we wanted to and my hair dresser used a solution on my hair called something like a "tint". It's not a dye, it balances the color on your hair.

Also, no matter what, as you wash your hair your color would fade.

I've dyed my hair dark brown before and left it on too long because I was on the phone and it was almost black. Depending on what dye you used it should begin to lighten somewhat within a week or two. Mine lightened really fast (about a week and it was a light ish brown) but I don't think my hair holds color well. You can just wait it out or maybe try lemon juice and sitting in the sun so as not to cause too much damage from the hair products.

Wash it often with a harsh shampoo something store bought usually has a high PH, unlike professional brand Shampoos that are PH balanced. Also conditioning it in between to keep it in good condition will make it shiny and also help pull some of the color out. This works as dark dye is deposited into the hair shaft and will fade over time.

*DYE

And dark colors always look MUCH darker than they really are right after you dye it.

Give it a few days, it may lighten a bit on its own.

And if that doesn't happen, I would recommend talking to a professional colorist at a salon.

They'll know exactly what you need to do.

You'll waste entirely too much time and money trying to do it yourself.

It will probably take a few days.... But a blow dryer alway's works! Anything with alot of heat in it. But don't do it too much where your hair will dry out. Good Luck!! Or go to a salon and get it high lighted!!

try a hilighting kit (you can get brown ones) or try putting lemon juice in you hair, leave for 20-30 minutes then rinse out it naturally lightens hair

wash your hair like a million times with a shampoo NOT for color treated hair. that should fade the color.

don't mess with it, don't run the risk of over processing your hair.
