when i start the game it does everything it suppose to but when it get almost to the end of the line to start the game it goes to my desktop and nothing happen. please help

Check the box for minimum requirements. Sims2 needs lots of memory and a decent graphics card.

I've had problems with that game too. I think that because the Sims2 requires so much memory, your computer probably cant take it all in like that.
when I first satrted playing the Sims and I installed all those games on my computer, all that memory made my computer crash too
