In the UK we drive on the left and mostly have right hand drive cars. This puts our gear stick in the centre of the car to our left.

its on the left, I`ve never driven a left hooker with the shift on the right, seems strange though it will be what your accustomed to,.... beware the old Jaguars the have the left transmission, but the hand brake is on the right, they want to tear your jeans or trousers off as you leave the car.
