There is no easy or soft way to do this. You have to talk to him/her right away. The worst thing to do is to drag it out. Just let the person know that you just don't feel it...and explain it as much as possible, and be prepared for the person to not want to be friends with you for a while, or at all.

well ur gonna brake there heart no matter how nice u are. so just tell them ur sorry but u dont realli have feelings for them anymore and that u want to stay friends...n stuff!!!good luck!

well, same thing happened to me, i told him at the beginning it was something new, but i just didnt get that spark. i am really sorry, i hope we can still be friends, if thats okay with you. and thats all. you let him finish it. then you go along with your life. thats all.
