Most smart children are very stubborn. My grandson taught himself to read at 4 years of age,but can't tie his shoe at 6.
His sister could spell many words at 18 month, but would not potty train.
Relax its so normal.Just enjoy them. When she sees you are not going to stress ,then she will change.
Let her grow in her own time, she will come around.
Thank God you have a healthy child and love her to pieces.

Wow, how impatient a parent are you? Some children are slower than others. You've got some good advice here though - let her see you do things including going to the toilet (it worked for my son), and have her screened for ASD. Be patient. And ask yourself, do you know any 20 year olds who can't use the toilet? These things take time. Don't bully her.

Continue to remind her to go potty. Even if she doesn't do anything, have her sit on the potty everyday at regular intervals. She will play with the toys that interest her the most. Don't force her to do it. It will all come natural in time.

Perhaps shes just like you were. Ask your mother.
If thats not the case maybe you spoiled herv so much she thinks you can do that stuff for her too.
Perhaps you been the perfect mother to her and doesnt know the price of disobedience.
Maybe............. She just dont wanna.
Then again to get kids motivated these days is almost impossible because we sat them in front of a bastardized version of real life by sitting them in front of the T>>V> too much. Go figure eh.

I have no idea what a sit and spin is. lol Learning to go potty is pretty major though. When two they should start being trained on that. It's a time consuming lesson sometimes. Depends on the child. They need to be told constantly to go and you have to ask them constantly if they have to. Children have to be taught to recognize when they feel they need to go to the bathroom before they go. Sounds easy enough but keep in mind, children who are not trained are not used to that. It's why when first training, they usually recognize they have to go to the bathroom right before they go. lol Trying buying her real cotton panties(yes, extra laundry) Put plastic on her bed and tell her she needs to use the restroom if she has to go. By the time she's four, she's old enough to know better, and then you need to use discipline.

It's either a matter of motivation or letting her find things on her own. Just make sure she doesn't have fears of phobias about those things, if she does you have to get to the root, otherwise give her some slack.

Sounds like my son. He is 7 and has a mild form of autism called asperger's syndrome. You can look it up online with google and there is a checklist you can use to fill out and take to your pediatrician if necessary as well.
