So today I just completed my first half marathon. I am 16 yrs old and I ran a 1:25:59. Is that a good time? I run cross country for my school but this was my first half marathon. If you have ever run a marathon before what was your time? I have no idea what a good half marathon time is, so is my time any good?

Yes, I am 15, I ran a half over the last summer with a time of 1:26:02 just over your pace, Now you are running less than a seven minute a mile pace which is excellent for such a long distance and a person your age. Most half marathoners peak around 30 years old so you're well on your way! I too run CC for my school my 5k pr is 18:59 which isn't yet near varsity or peak hopefully...

Yes, that is very good. My track coach got a 2:04 in the Boston Marathon and he got 9th overall! For a 16-year old in his first race, that's very good. In my first half marathon, i got 1:55 and I have a 5:50 mile. I cant believe you ran that fast.

86 minutes for half marathon is sub 7 minute miles for the whole thing. i'd say congratulations are in order for your first effort...impressive. i would think that time would put you well in the "front" finishers.
