It could be that he just wants to get your attention. My cat will do this and he is indoor and fixed also. It's just his way to say "Hey, I'm around...and I'm bored". But he's never going outside...I dont care what he says!

Male cat> The first thing that comes to mind is a urinary tract infection-if that is the case, he'll eventually start peeing on the floor. It is very painful to them and can be cleared up easily with antibiotics from a vet. If he's already having a problem at 2, it may be wise to keep him on a low ash cat food-talk to your vet about it.

I also have cats and my cats do that when there is a strange cat outside. Next time he does tha you should slowly peek out through a window and chech the sorrounding to see if you can spot an outside cat. Its like if indoor cats are warning the outside cats to stay away. My female cat did that for several nights until the outside cat got the memo.

Is he urinating ok? Having bowel movements? Sometimes male neutered cats become blocked and are unable to urinate which can be VERY painful and deadly! Take him to the vet and have him checked out for other medical issues if neither of these is the problem

My mom's cat does this ALL the time. Believe it or not, they may want a certain person to be home that's not home. My mom's cat does that when my dad goes to work.

This is a bad sign. You probably should go ahead and have the cat put to sleep. Sorry!
