I'm not sure about you all but if people want to do away with welfare no one is going to take the jobs that the illegals are doing after they're gone.

Or are those jobs going to follow the Mexicans?

Oh don't worry!! Ex-cons will become our new nannies... can you imagine? what kid will be disrespectful to a badass-tattoed-former-coke-sniffer watching over him??

In fact we may even give a second chance to our registered sex offenders and pedophiles... after all we prefer our legal ex-con citizens willing to accept low fare jobs rather than the filthy hard worker ilegal!!

I'm sure the necrophilic-feces-fetish freak that just got out of rehab will do a better job cooking your burrito at taco bell than the criminal mexican who came here ilegally!

It's just a matter of choice... what's yours?

A lot of the jobs are not relocatable. Such as construction.

The solution is really very simple. Quit paying people to not work. They can either get a job, or stop eating.

It will cut down on the illegal traffic as well. There is almost no risk to comming here looking for work. If you find a job great, if you don't get on public assistance.

There is no such thing as a junk job. I was involved in the opening of a plant in an economically depressed area. (High unemployment). There were people in the community in their 30's that had never had a job. (Don't jump to conclusions the vast majority were rural white people living on government assistance).

These folks were hired months before the plant opened and paid to attend training seccessions. Within a month after the plant had opened most of them had quit their jobs. The plant mgr. asked one of the quiting workers (the guy had been doing a pretty good job), why he was leaving.

His response was that if he worked at the plant he wound up paying taxes and once the taxes were subtracted the balance was only a little more than his government assistance. Besides there was the extra hassle of having to be at a certain place at a certain time every day, and being tied up at the job all week.

Now most of the businesses in the town are run by Spanish speaking people and the community is over run by hard working spanish speakers and the deadbeats sit down at the local cafe and whin about it. If I ruled the world these deadbeats would be hauled to the border and dumped on the other side and we'd keep the spanish speaking working people. We'd come out way ahead on that trade.

Bottom line is it is just way too easy to avoid work here. That needs to change.

Those jobs can be filled by ex-felons that can't get other employment, those still within the prison system can do farming and get in touch with themselves. People that are too lazy to finish high school, grammar school or attend college or a bonified trade school. Importing the uneducated doesn't make things better for anybody.

If you are going to educate illegal aliens, give food stamps, section 8 and medical care to them, we might as well give it to legitmate citizens, the homeless and legal immigrants..

Has anyone seen the Mexican Constitution? You can't obtain any services or own property if you are an illegal alien. They HAVE sense enough to have A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!

it's a simple law of supply/demand. if there are more people needing jobs than there are jobs, someone will take the job, no matter how "junky" it is. if there are more jobs than there are people, then the job will have to entice the worker, and eventually make it less "junky" enough that someone takes it.

while i understand the rationale behind the thought, it is difficult for me to agree that illegals should be left alone in the country. there is nothing wrong with the people themselves, so why not go through the process of residing here according to the rules of law that all citizens have to follow? by very definition, they are here illegally. either get legal or get out.

I think you'd be very surprised to see how many people on welfare would work if you took all of their welfare away and all immigrants left the country. Hunger is a great motivator & since people have to eat or die I think they'd take the a dish washing job if meant them living or dying. Unless they wanted to go to prison instead.

Less than 3% of illegals work in any capacity. Although they are only 2% of our population, they are 35% of our prison population. This basically means that most illegals are violent criminals and working for a living is the farthest thing from their minds.

This represents an INCREDIBLE net loss in money and resources related to them.....not to mention all the massive human suffering related to all the people they rape, rob, murder and all the drugs they pump into our communities.

Hum,wonder who was working the jobs before the illegals came here? And then we didnt even have to pay illegals welfare, imagaine that! And furthermore there are lots of minimum wage jobs here in my town that the illegals arent willing to work, they would rather sit in there free housing eating there free meals and poppin out more babies for us to pay for.

"Junk" jobs, like construction, hospitality, & restaurants?!? Honey, the people that were doing those same jobs BEFORE the illegals undercut their wages! If you're refering to agriculture, apparently fruit is rotting on the vines because there are no illegals to pick it, although we have 12-20 million illegals currently in the country, which could only mean that they are not doing those jobs anyway. That begs the question- what the hell are they doing here?

There has never been a lack of desire to work a job in America by Americans so long as the wage was fair. If you can give an example of a job an American wont do please, by all means, now is your chance.

excuse me? i did house keeping, its not that bad. if i had to get another job id do it again. if spots need to be filled, someone will fill them. the only reason illegals have those jobs is because when employers realized that they could pay them less for the same work they fired all the whites and even blacks that held those jobs.
