If God is the only one who can see the heart, then how can we even begin to judge others justly?

1. Matthew 7:5 isn’t a command. Jesus is teaching about how we can be so hypocritical when we try to judge others. “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye”. (Hmmm speck vs. plank)
2. James 5 says nothing about judging others.
3. Pointing out other people’s sins to them, even one on one can turn into a power trip or an ego booster for you, and a ego buster for them. Kind of the same mentality behind bullying.
4. I Corinthians 6:2 is regarding Christians sueing each other in a public court of law. Considering how much we know about how we would judge angels, I would be careful to balance this verse with what Paul says earlier in 1 Corinthians 4: 4-5 “My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts"

It may be human nature; but that don't make it right!! It is also human nature to kill! But thats not something that God just "overlooks". Verbal abuse is actually just as bad as physical abuse. Therapists will even tell you that! Alot of Christians use the "human nature" excuse to do evil to others. I left the Church because I was actually worse off spiritually because of all the mockery and slander. But all you need is God! If people continue to behave this way there will be alot of people worshiping from their homes! The Bible says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. It does not say that someone else should work it out for you! Jesus said man will be held accountable for every word he speaks! They just shove it aside and continue their mockery of the poor and the weak. They see it as a "lesser sin" that God ignores. Just like how they preach against drinking and smoking and then turn around and eat five plates of food out of the all you can eat buffet. Whats worse than a Satanist is a Person who persecutes the people within the church! They work for Satan they just don't know it! The bible does not command men to judge with words! We are commanded to bridle the toungue. We judge the world by the way we live! If you our a child of God and live it; the world will notice it! The world can also know a phony when they see one! You judge the world by keeping your mouth shut! Not by running your mouth and making fun of people.

I try to look at it like this, I can speak to my brothers and sisters one on one and point out a sin to help them remember where they need to be and I hope they would do the same for me. However i will never tell someone they are going to burn in hell because of some sin they have commited. In this manner I am abhorring the sin, but loving the sinner. If I did not love the sinner I would not try to remind them to be mindful of what they are doing. But I would be playing God to tell anyone what is truly in their hearts as only God can discern that. And I believe He will be a much better judge than any just man I have ever met.

1 Corinthians 6: 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 1 Corinthians 6: 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Matthew 7:1-2...gives us permission to judge. We can't help but judge. We judge whether one is telling us a lie or a truth. We judge if we should go to the market now or wait for our friend and go with him or her. We judge whether we will drink Pepsi or Coke. Yet, our judgment of others and of objects and situations must be righteous judgments...meaning it must be done with true intention and in the place of our hearts with the Word of God as our standard. Jesus tells us to "judge righteous judgment..."
We must judge as we ourselves would like to be judged...honestly, with truth and fairness. We judge every day. We can't help but judge. We judge right and wrong when we are placed in such situations that require us to decide what we should do or not do. And we judge ourselves as we are supposed to hold up our life against the life of Jesus Christ of the bible to see if we indeed are in the faith. We judge daily and there is nothing wrong if our judgment is done in truth, honesty, and fairness.

I tend to be very tolerent. You must be understanding of why people are they way they are, good or bad.
Some cases I still do feel anger or disbelief of what ppl do or say but understanding is the jist of not judging. I would have to think god is the same way. I mean he understands my faults and where they stemed and I like to be just in thinking as god.

I think most do judge, not because they play the role of God, but it is just so easy.... like when you meet a person for the first time, that is your impression of them, if they are tattooed up, spiked hair, piercings- they are usually branded a 'heathen' that is judging!
or you meet a
christian, looking all swift, they are branded a nice person, but if you don't know these ppl. how can you judge? RIGHT! you cannot, but many ppl are guil;ty of it.
we must ask for forgiveness everyday.

The Bible commands that Christians "judge" actions and words.
"First, take the plank out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brothers eye."

We are called to judge each others behavior (which is the only thing obvious), but not to judge censoriously. See James 5.

We are not supposed to judge whether someone is going to heaven or hell. We are supposed to judge the sin. It's amazing how many people get that confused. I know that sin is wrong. My sin, your sin, everyone's sin is wrong. The bible is very clear on that. What I don't know is where your soul is going to spend eternity.
